"Three and a half years ago, the Pandemic closed the chapter of Rent in my life. I was so fortunate to visit Argenta Community Theatre last night and reopen that chapter. And let me tell you, Jonathan Larson's legacy is alive and well in central Arkansas! Beautifully handled and passionately directed by Brandon Box-Higdem, RENT exploded onstage last night in all it's gritty joy. It was truly a cathartic experience for me. I was moved through laughter and tears and truly reminded how important it is to tell stories like this...especially in Arkansas. It is their closing weekend and I am told that they are already sold out. That makes me sad for anyone who couldn't score a ticket, but it also thrills me to know that Arkansas is embracing and supporting queer stories on some stages, despite what the Legislature is trying to undermine"
